Forty years ago Pacha Ibiza opened for the first time after brothers Ricardo and Piti Urgell turned an old Spanish Finca into an intimate venue so they could “meet pretty girls”. 

To celebrate this landmark anniversary a new 4 disc compilation has been released which takes a musical journey through Pacha’s rich history. 

CD1 features tracks by Deadmau5 & Kaskade, Bob Sinclar, David Guetta and Eric Prydz. 

CD2 includes music by artists such as Jamiroquai, Alison Limerick, Nightcrawlers and Gat Decor. 

CD3 features tracks by Black Box, Inner City, Raze and Frankie Knuckles. 

CD4 includes seminal tracks by the likes of Sister Sledge, Diana Ross, Loleatta Holloway and Donna Summer. 

Included in the package is a booklet featuring pictures and flyers depicting key moments from Pacha’s colourful evolution. 

Pacha Ibiza 40 Years: 1973-2013 is the perfect soundtrack to the long-awaited summer and a wonderful celebration of an iconic clubbing brand.

Suanda Music is an exciting new record label based in St Petersburg, Russia.

Producers Offshore Wind & Roman Messer have created the debut release for the label working with vocalist Ange.

Suanda is a beautiful uplifting track which comes in numerous versions including an Aurosonic Chill Out mix, a Zetandel Chill Out mix, a Roman Messer Magic mix, a Progressive mix and an Alekzander Dubex remix.

Having started the year by releasing his vs The World artist album and launching a new podcast, Durand is finalising the latest album in what Mixmag has described as “the greatest trance series of them all.”

“With EDM in the States having changed so momentously over the last couple of years, there really was only once choice when it came to the country for 2013s ‘Search’.  I’ve selected Sin City herself, Las Vegas to be the focus point of it all.  This album will be a celebration of everything that’s great musically about Las Vegas and the USA at large,” commented Durand.

For the first time, the compilation will also feature a special third disc mixed by guests Myon & Shane54.

To coincide with the release, Durand will perform at some of the biggest and best events around the world.

To celebrate this milestone he has announced a global tour visiting locations such as Beach Club Fuel in Bloemendall in the Netherlands, Ministry of Sound in London, Webster Hall in New York and Zouk in Singapore.

Joining Tyas on the decks will be headline artists such as Super8 & Tab, Jochen Miller, Leon Bolier, Arnej, Greg Downey and Sied van Riel.

Tyas’ latest single, Got Love, features vocals by Nicole McKenna and has received plays at the Ultra Music Festival and ASOT 600.

There are also plans for a Tytanium 200 compilation album featuring tracks played in the Tytanium Sessions radio show broadcast on FM stations around the world and online at Afterhours.FM.

Fuel Beachclub is located in the Dutch coastline town of Bleomendaal and is known for Sunday beach parties and big events such as Grotesque.

The Dutch DJ and producer Menno de Jong has created a new compilation album which reflects the feel of the venue and some of the events held there including Latin Lovers, Taste It and Luminosity.

The album features tracks by the likes of Cosmic Gate, Protoculture, Andain and Matt Davey as well as De Jong’s Never Lose The Magic.

De Jong established himself with his debut hit Guanxi in 2004 and has since created tracks such as Second Thoughts, Watermark, Millionfold and Tundra.

Fuel Beachclub, mixed by Menno de Jong, is a Black Hole Recordings release.

As the promo for the track states, it is “locked around thunderous, purposeful drums, tight, stripped-back percussion loops and mood fuelling, floor-engaging FX.” 

But what this can’t convey is just how beguiling the track is and how well Californian singer/songwriter Lumiere delivers the vocal. 

Just listen and you will hear what I mean.

If the rest of Ottaviani’s album is of the same high standard I think EDM fans can expect to hear something very special indeed.

This new track by producer Zaxx and vocalist Tiff Lacey entered the Beatport Top 100 within the first 24 hours of release.

It has been supported by the likes of Giuseppe Ottaviani, Shane Halcon, Andrew Rayel and MaRLo.

“I wanted to capture the essence of the South African trance and progressive scene in one track,” says Zaxx, who is based in Johannesburg.

“While creating it I thought about the past gigs I’ve played, both in big arenas and in small venues. The spirit of South African dance music is alive, although somewhat contained, so I thought why not make a track that can extend beyond our borders and show that spirit to the DJs and dance floors of the world.”

Zaxx has performed all across his native South Africa alongside artists such as Markus Schulz, Aly & Fila and Cosmic Gate.

Tiff Lacey is based in London and has collaborated with major names from all over the world including Paul Oakenfold, ATB and Tenishia.

“When Zaxx contacted me about his production he spoke of the essence of the scene and, having worked with South African artists in the past, I knew right away exactly where he wanted to take it.”

“South Africa is a unique country. It is a country that is reaching out globally. It has a scene that knows it is alive but also wants the world to know the same. You can get a sense of that with the simple lyrics I wrote for the track. They represent self-confidence yet are wrapped in a veil of mystery,” she says.

Zaxx & Tiff Lacey – Feel Me (Southern State Music) was released via Beatport on 15 April 2013. It will be released on all other outlets on 29 April followed by a full remix package including one by UK producer Adam White.

Russia Goes Clubbing is the new 16 track mix compilation by Moscow based DJ and producer Bobina. 

The compilation reflects the style of music played in Bobina’s podcast and features tracks by Lence & Pluton, Ashley Wallbridge, Mike Danis, First State and Daniel Kandi. 

Bobina, aka Dmitry Almazov, has remixed the likes of Supermode, Armin van Buuren, Linkin Park and Paul Oakenfold and appeared at events including The Miami Winter Music Conference, Trance Energy and Gatecrasher Summer Sound System. 

He has also collaborated with Richard Durand and released a string of successful singles including Quattro 372, The Space Track and You Belong To Me.
