Andain release artist album

Packshot

You Once Told Me is the first official band album by Mavie Marcos and Josh Gabriel otherwise known as Andain.

It features tracks including their most recent single – Turn Up The Sound – and Promises which was released in 2011.

“We blended natural acoustic sounds with electronic percussive ones throughout the album,” explains songstress Mavie.

“We made sure to keep our musical sound pallet, made up of our drum kits and analogue synth sounds, consistent throughout. We thought this would result in the most intricate album for the listener – something that is meant to be listened to in its entirety as a cohesive piece of music – not just a string of singles.”

Andain have previously created anthemic records such as Summer Calling and Beautiful Things.

You Once Told Me is available as a CD via Finenight and Amazon as well as in an exclusive iTunes Deluxe version.

The album is also available to hear on Spotify and to download as an MP3.

Playa Del Lounge, Vol 3

Packshot

This is the 3rd installment in the chillout compilation series compiled by Pedro Del Mar.

There are 17 new cuts, many of them previously unreleased, by artists such as Roger Shah, Bjorn Akesson, Jamie Carpenter, Motif and Sunlounger.

“Playa Del Lounge really means a lot to me,” says Del Mar.

“I have been active in the music industry for 16 years, rushing from gig to gig and meeting to meeting, but one thing is key for me. To make sure that I can escape the busy daily life by working on my annual chillout album.”

“It means that I invest a lot of effort and passion into the project simply because it is such a great experience to check out hundreds or even thousands of downbeat tunes.”

“Think of it as a nice combination of brainstorming and creative music sessions with first class international artists in order to secure exclusive material that matches my vision.”

“As always I didn’t want to limit the musical style to one particular chillout sound. I wanted to showcase the wide range and all facets of ambient, chillout, downbeat, acoustic and other influences and in all modesty I can say that Volume 3 covers them all.”

Sixteen of the tracks are vocal tunes featuring the voices of artists such as Betsie Larkin, Emma Hewitt, Inger Hansen, Ana Criado, Andain and Adrina Thorpe.

There is also a new single by Del Mar himself which is a collaboration with Richard Durand and Roberta Harrison.

Pedro Del Mar presents Playa Del Lounge Vol 3 is available now as a CD via Fine Night and Amazon and to download via Amazon and iTunes.

Bossa Trancelations

How would today’s trance hits sound if they were played in a bossa nova style?

Black Hole Recordings decided to find out and recruited professional bands to infuse 12 famous trance hits with Latin American sounds.

Andain – Beautiful Things, Tiësto – Love Comes Again, JES – Imagination and Cosmic Gate – Not Enough Time are just some of the tracks which have been given an injection of Latin American spirit on a new Bossa Trancelations album.

Invite your friends over, start making the mojitos and enjoy the album which is available now from shops and portals!

Beautiful Things

I first heard this track by Andain during a mix Tiesto did for a magazine covermount.  It has stayed with me ever since.

It’s a bewitching track with a haunting vocal.

For 2010 Black Hole Recordings are releasing a stunning set of remixes from artists such as Jorn van Deynhoven, Spaio & Sleazy Tek, Roger Shah and Pedro Del Mar & Ole Van Bohm.

Current hot property Jorn van Deynhoven strips the track to the minimal roots and includes nods and winks to italo sounds from back in the day.

Pedro Del Mar & Ole van Bohm give the track a slightly more electronic atmosphere turning it into a full on hands in the air trance moment.

Roger Shah takes a techno angle which includes his unmistakable sound so reminiscent of long hot summer nights while preserving some of the key elements of the original.

Spaio & Sleazy Tek take a completely fresh approach with a brand new arrangement.  They somehow move the experience beyond clubbing and into the post party chill out with a beautiful string section.

These new takes on this anthem remind you of the quality of the original.  It’s great to hear this beautiful track again and I can’t wait to experience it on the dance floor.
