Mix02 includes tracks by Turntable Orchestra, Umek, Basto and Swanky Tunes.

The label promises “if you’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting a Pacha club over the last forty years this compilation will take you back there, and if you’ve never been it will make you want to go and see what all the fuss is about, guaranteed!”

NightTag is a really cool new free app.

You simply download it to your phone, connect to Facebook and invite your friends to join.

On your night out you can then take a picture while the app listens to the music playing around you.

NightTag then shares your photo, what you are listening to and your location on Facebook in a nice easy post.

Within the app, there is also a streaming page hosting live internet radio including Ferry Corsten’s weekly Countdown podcast.

In selected countries there is a listings page detailing dance music events by venue or on a map so you can easily find somewhere to hang out wherever you are.

NightTag has been created by Olmeca – the No. 1 Tequila brand in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Dan Slipper – top 10 dance tunes – February 2012

Trance& logo

I took a little break from this feature in January as the musical landscape was covered in snow and in hibernation.

Now there has been a thaw there are some amazing tunes around.  Here are my top 10 for this month:

  1. Arjonas & Chris Jones – Love Comes In Colours (Acoustic mix) (Zouk Recordings)
  2. Thallie Ann Seenyen – Dub4 (Las Salinas radio edit) (Dappa Cherry)
  3. Randy Boyer ft. Parker – Always Missing (Weirdness radio remix) (EnMass Music)
  4. Beyonce – End Of Time (Wawa mix) (Sony Music)
  5. Giovanni Bottai – Rockets (Original mix) (HJM Recordings)
  6. Antillas ft. Fiora – Damaged (Green & Falkner remix) (Zouk Recordings)
  7. Aknael & Bekeela ft. Jane Maximova – Your Love (Original mix) (Vendace Records)
  8. Rebels Without A Cause & York – Red Violin (York’s radio mix) (Planet Love Records)
  9. Ferry Corsten ft. Ellie Lawson – A Day Without Rain (Original mix) (New State Music)
  10. Hypertrophy ft. Nicola Quilter – Ocean Meets The Sun (Andre Visior & Cold Blue remix) (Breathe Music)

Thallie Ann Seenyen is a hot new artist with a stunning voice.  The Beyonce and Bottai are dance floor gold dust.  The Antillas is a fresh version of a classic.  The Akneal & Bekeeka is simply a beautiful record.  The Rebels Without A Cause is a great fusion of styles.  Ferry Corsten’s new track is from his forthcoming WKND album and I think is one of the best he has ever done.  The Hypertrophy is a wonderful piece of trance.

Uplifting euphoric dance music?  Absolutely!
